What is the Missouri Watercolor Society?
We are individuals who have come together to promote watermedia painting in the state of Missouri. Our
organization is open to anyone.
We recognize the use of any water based
media as long as it is done on paper or a paper product: transparent watercolor, acrylic, casein, egg tempera, gouache, pen and inks.
We do not accept computer generated art at this time.

What do I get?
The society will sponsor three exhibitions each year. The "Annual Members' Invitational" is
open to any member in good standing who holds active or signature status. All levels of accomplishment will show together. Awards will
be given by MoWS.
The membership will be asked to submit slides for a major competitive show, "Missouri Watercolor
National." This exhibition will be open to artists outside the state.
A third show will alternate annually between the following themes: The Color of Flowers, The Color of
Landscape, and The Color of Abstraction.
Quarterly, the membership will enjoy a magazine concerning itself with the activities of the organization,
membership, exhibition and workshop possibilities, and articles on painting techniques.
Membership in MoWS will also allow you a chance to showcase your work inexpensively to the largest audience
in the world - the World Wide Web! We will have an online exhibition for watermedia every four months, and members can also open their
own personal gallery that can include works of any media!
The Missouri Watercolor Society will not release your name, address, phone number, fax, or e-mail address
to any individual. MoWS neither rents nor shares its membership list. At times, MoWS may give certain necessary information to third
parties performing services for MoWS. For example: Laura King for use on the MoWS Web site and the MoWS magazine, Watercolor Studio.
In addition, MoWS may share information with our corporate sponsors providing the sponsor follows strict guidelines and safeguards to
keep the information confidential. MoWS will provide necessary information to inquiries about its Web site galleries: For example: a
buyer wanting information about a painting that is for sale.
