I'm really not good at putting down on paper how I feel about things. And writing this statement has given me a lot to ponder over and what I want to say about my art. So here goes....

My philosophy of art is...if it looks interesting - paint it, draw it, photograph it, sculpt it - or whatever, but just do it! Even if it doesn't turn out the way you thought it would, you still have the satisfaction and excitement of creating it. Remember every piece can't be a masterpiece, but it can be a good learning experience.

I'm not tied to any one medium or subject matter, and I like to experiment with as many as I can, sometimes having two or more going at the same time. Someone once told me I'd never be a "real artist" because I couldn't focus on a particular medium or subject matter and stick with it. How boring!

I find that using different media keeps my work fresh and switching from traditional to abstract to non-objective or whatever might grab my creative side at that particular moment, keeps the excitement of seeing what develops electric. I don't have a favorite medium. However, I do seem to keep coming back to watercolor, perhaps because it offers the most challenge.

I like sharing my excitement and work with others and hope they enjoy it as much as I have enjoyed creating it. I also enjoy hearing how my work affects people...how they feel and what they see when they look at it.
