Watercolor Gallery of Florence Guhleman - The Missouri Watercolor Society

I paint to share with whomever views my work my love of color, nature, and hopefully, to make a similar emotional impact on the viewers that the scene has inspired in me. My art has enabled me to fully express my emotional feeling that I was not able to do verbally. My association with artists and people interested in art has enriched and fulfilled me beyond measure.

For twelve years after my husband retired, we traveled the United States and Canada in our motor home. Camping near the Grand Tetons, by a field of blue bonnets in Texas or by a lighthouse on the rocky Maine coast gave me the opportunity to really see and appreciate the beauty of our country. I hope sharing these experiences through my watercolors will bring some of the pleasure to you that it has to me.

	Florence Laws Guhleman was born on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, but has lived all her married life in Missouri. A University of Maryland graduate nurse, she was in her forties when she started painting. Florence studied at Lincoln University and William Woods University, and has attended workshops in many areas of the United States as well as Greece and France. Her paintings have been exhibited in many local and regional shows winning numerous honors, including purchase awards that resulted in her artwork hanging in most of the local banks, hospitals and businesses.
